Supercharge - band formed 1972 under the name Hot Dick (but soon changed that) by mainstay Albie Donnelly (sax,voc) who was originally in the Clayton Squares & Fix Soul Band who had played the Star Club in Hamburg, and Dave Irving (drms) (later Sad Café). Band was originally called Saxophone Collossus & His Mates From The Betting Shop, then The Man With The Big Horn & His Group. Orig line up as well as Albie was; Ozzi Yue (gtr), John Tilley (bass), Cyrus Coburn (perc), Alan Gaskell (sax,gtr) (left to join The Cruizers & rejoined in 1978).
Within 12 months the line up had changed after John & Cyrus disappeared with Alan Peters (trmb) (ex Almost Blues, later Lawnmower, Opposition, 29th & Dearborn, Love Ponies) coming in with Bob Robertson (sax), Pete Newton (bass) (later of Northwind), & Phil Chittick (perc) (who left to join The Merseybeats, rejoined 1982).
By mid-73 Tony Dunmore had taken over on bass & Alan Peters left. The band rel their debut LP 'Between Music & Madness' on local Stag Recs.
In 1975 Ian Bradshaw (keys) joined with Paul Latham (trmb) (later of Maynard Ferguson's Big Band)

Andy Parker (sax), Tony Windas (gtr), Dave Dover (blues harp) (all later of Herbie Pops Out), Dave went onto form Sliced Bread in 1982, also played for Colonel Bagshot & now is bassist with the Space Cadets. Clive Byron (drms) (later A-Team, Circus Circus) played with them (1983-84)
