Young
Marble Giants –Cardiff band (formed Nov 78), feat; Philip
Moxham (bass) (later Bomb And Dagger,Taffia), Stuart Moxham
(gtr,keys), Alison Statton (voc) (later Bomb And Dagger). All played in covers
band True Wheel. Signed to Rough Trade recs after label had heard them
on a comp LP & rel LP ‘Colossal Youth.’ At time of signing they had only
played 4 gigs (all in Cardiff), went on to tour UK, Europe & US. Split in 1980 due
to tensions after a US tour. Statton later formed Weekend
leaving the brothers to form Gist. Phil played on Weekend recordings as
well, & spent short stints with David Thomas & The Pedestrians
(appearing on The Sound of the Sand LP on Rough Trade) & Everything But The
